We mentioned it last week: the specifications were written, and the work has made huge progress in a single week 🚀
The launcher is almost ready and will be used during test #6 on May 27.
Features that are present and working:
Present but not yet working:
I've included 3 screenshots in this news post.
A configurable building test has been done and is still in progress: an apartment (empty for now) that is configurable (x rows by y floors). The goal is for you to spawn inside it, with a free apartment assigned to you that will be yours alone (you will be the only one spawning in that apartment). We'll place a lot of them in case many of you come to play the game.
While building these spawn apartments, an issue with the planet tech and the terrain was identified. Changes and re-exports are in progress.
The bridge plugin in Horizon is well advanced and is being coded alongside the external data persistence service. It allows sending and receiving data (events) to an external service simply through a configuration file. It already works well and will be finished within the week.
Object persistence will be tested during test #6 on May 27.
The first props are being created (chair, table...).
For the MVP, we need a rock transport truck.
The Gameplay team has been hard at work on it for several days, and the truck is starting to get its features and characteristics (battery components, dimensions, 4-wheel drive, 2-seat cab, dump bed...).
Call for Godot coders
We'd like to get the code started for the truck. If you feel like working on it, let us know!!!
The character features (clothing layers), inventory (backpack management) and module management (module sizes and types for vehicles) are being written up for the GDD; a first read-through took place last night during the weekly public leads meeting.
