⚙️ Engine & map

• NPCs are ready, but their release is pushed back to Thursday evening: performance diagnosis in progress (missing LODs on rocks, in particular).
• All residential buildings are now placed directly on the planet (no more base plate). Containers and crawlers not migrated yet.
• Terrain resolution: 42 km → 2 km. Much more relief, planet size 166 MB → 650 MB.
• Roads drawn in QGIS → automatically exported into the engine. Width is defined as a property (4 m for now, adjustable, it adapts on its own in-game).
• Automatic bridges over canyons: coded, not sure they'll be ready for Thursday.
• Rock crusher → machine → crate → warehouse chain: working.
• ⚠️ Scale bug in QGIS: the scalebar is wrong (3 km shown instead of 12-15). Lead: version difference (3.44 stable vs. a more recent one). To be confirmed.

🗺️ The demo map

• 4 villages/towns + one factory, one warehouse per village, 12-15 km roads, switchbacks on the mountain to test the relief.
• Two big cities sit in the basin, beneath the dust → access via tunnel or canyon only. The capital is on the same plateau but very far away.
• Tunnels: we'll need to add a "tunnel" road type, split into segments, with elevation data.
• Pure corundum ground = white, looks burnt out when the star is at its zenith. We'll make sure there's colour variety between regions (no vegetation to break it up).

🛣️ Guardrails & wind protection — open debate

• bitogno: crosswinds + dust require protection, especially at high speed. Walls don't necessarily have to hug the road or be permanent, only in windy areas.
• Kainan: a road closed on both sides = a permanent corridor, one player parks sideways and blocks everything. A game design problem to anticipate.
• ddurieux: the guardrails in the lore doc were mainly meant for the big highways. Possible test with a wall at ~200 m (but a 400 m footprint), or find an anti-wind mechanism that doesn't close off the road.
• Blocking will remain possible anyway in tunnels, on bridges, in canyons and at building entrances.

🚧 Griefing & moderation (not settled)

Ideas raised: bans + a report system, patrolling NPCs and tow trucks, unblocking missions given to players, despawning a vehicle that has been stationary for ~3 min (but how do you tell a genuine breakdown apart?). Reservations raised: this assumes 24/7 moderation, and giving players authority comes with its own abuses.

🪧 Road signs

• 3-4 reusable 3D shapes (triangle, square, octagon), only the texture changes. The half-perforated signs won unanimous approval.
• Clarification: the "spinning" sign does not rotate; it tilts on a spring in the direction of the wind so it doesn't get eaten away by the corundum, then springs back into position.
• Size to be set according to the vehicles' max speed, then test readability in-game (real-world standards = a source of inspiration, not a rule).
• US style (yellow) vs. European: left to the art team. Reservation: yellow won't read well on light-coloured ground.

📚 Lore & documentation

• The "customs / behaviours" topic is open and being filled in; "data management on missions" will be closed for lack of feedback.
• Foods added, Kelvin values corrected, big cities added to the map, elevation work in progress.
• Inconsistency to fix: the doc explains why there are no robots… while there are some in-game.
• Vehicle design: no written style guide, the old docs seem to be lost. We'd go with guiding keywords (industrial, boxy shapes) rather than an imposed theme.

❓ To be decided — your feedback is welcome

• Village population: 250 or 500? (the doc says 250)
• Which direction does the wind come from (retrograde rotation of the planet) → determines road placement
• Vehicles' max speed
