⚙️ Infra & server

• New version deployed last Thursday: the major performance issue is fixed, the Godot server now runs at around 60 TPS
• Infra migration completed Sunday/Monday → we are 100% on the new infra in production
• Slimmed-down dev images: no more need to rebuild all of Horizon for every config change
• Rock rework in progress: spawn zones, consistent size/weight, breaking into small pieces (not just 2 or 4)
• Test with ~95 players: no more issues with other players' possession 🎉, but a few packets not getting through → Horizon optimizations in progress, new test within a few days
• Bridges to fix (step + sliding) before extending the road to the big city and making the switchback road testable → targeted for next week
• No admin mode yet, the topic is on the table

🔋 MVP components

• Priority confirmed: battery, then engine, with no sub-components for the MVP
• 4 slots requested from the art team; batteries on the sides, engine in the component bay (under the dump bed on the current model) — no constraints imposed on placement
• The engine channel is open, the battery will come next (the engine needs to be defined first)

🛣️ Roads & speeds

• We're going with 3 road types → slow / medium / fast rather than fixed numerical values; this will be adjusted in-game based on actual distances
• Open question: is it the vehicle that limits speed, or the road layout (turns, switchbacks)?
• A build with different road types and defined distances will be prepared for testing
• The debate continues in the dedicated channel, it's yours to take up 👀

🏗️ Vehicle elevator & canyons

• Kept as a bonus (outside the strict MVP): lets you bring back trucks that fell into the canyons and lays the groundwork for the elevator system on the code side
• Reminder: canyons weren't planned for the MVP but they're there, generated 300 m below ground level and connected to each other across the whole planet

🧩 Lore vs gameplay consistency

Big discussion about the level of realism for engines (tech, size, power). Consensus: we keep universe consistency — the foundation remains our world in the future — but it must stay non-blocking and not slow down development. We then simplify to keep it digestible.

🎨 Art & narrative

• Road signs added in Art, currently blocked by a lore question
• New narrative question opened: why don't we use AI on Ares?
• Ares design: the Figma information was lost, it needs to be recovered
• Holes in the ground on Tarsis in progress (very long); duplicate points double the map size → a cleanup script will be written

🗓️ Game design meetings

Agreement in principle for a recurring meeting (every 2 to 3 weeks), with a topic defined in advance to keep it productive. Time slots to be varied (weekday evenings, weekends) to reach more people. This doesn't replace the written channels.
